Mr Richard Frame

Mr Frame has been my breast cancer consultant for the past year. He has the ability to make you feel at ease straight away. He is friendly, compassionate and approachable. He was clear with his explanation of my diagnosis, listened to my concerns, gave me all the information I needed and I felt part of the decision making for my treatment. I felt like a person rather than just a number in the system. He referred me to the genetics department after my cancer diagnosis, where I found out I carried the Bcra2 gene mutation. I have had surgery to remove my cancer and also at a later date had preventative surgery on my other breast. I have had a lumpectomy and SNB. A skin sparing bilateral mastectomy with immediate expandable implant reconstruction, as I choose to go larger. Bilateral implant exchange to silicone implants. I am extremely happy with the results. My new boobs look amazing and feel so natural. I am so pleased he was my breast consultant.

Mr. Richard Frame, my breast cancer oncologist, demonstrates an outstanding combination of expertise, professionalism, and compassion. From my very first consultation, he delivered information with clarity and empathy, offering both encouragement and reassurance. His approach gave me complete confidence that I was in the best possible hands. Now, nearly six months on, following two successful surgeries and a course of radiotherapy, I am optimistic about the future and grateful for the excellent care I have received.

My first visit to Mr Frame was in April 2024, on the back of my sister’s breast cancer diagnosis and confirmed BRCA 1 gene abnormality - he was very pleasant, informative and helpful. After genetic testing, it was also found I carry the same BRCA 1 variant. As a preventative, I opted to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction - of which was very successful. Mr Frame has been incredible, supporting me every step of the way. His care and dedication is second to none. I am forever grateful.

My diagnosis as for so many others came as a terrible shock. Mr Frame’s highly professional management of the situation helped me tremendously to accept my predicament and to move forward in a positive frame of mind. This was due to his excellent bedside manner, his completely thorough explanation of how we would proceed for the best outcome along with details of the procedures he would perform along with feedback afterwards. I have had a very positive experience under his care.

Richard explained thoroughly throughout my treatment what would happen, what to expect and also showing actual photos of previous cases which really put my mind at rest. I felt like I was carefully listened to about my lifestyle, career and personal feelings to allow the best options be chosen for me. I am eternally grateful for the care and compassion shown during a very difficult time. Thank you to Richard and his team for such wonderful care throughout.

Mr Frame is one of those unique professionals who puts you at ease from the moment you first meet him. In my case, this was to impart the unexpected news that I had breast cancer. I will always be grateful for the gentle but straightforward manner in which he did this. My diagnosis set in motion a 4 week rollercoaster of events, ultimately resulting in a bilateral mastectomy and skin saving reconstruction. Prior to surgery, options needed to be considered and decisions needed to be made relatively quickly but Mr Frame’s clear explanations and compassionate approach meant I never felt overwhelmed. Mr Frame was proactive in making sure that test results were communicated to me as swiftly as possible. The ongoing support throughout the whole process has been second to none. I feel most privileged to have Mr Frame as my consultant and thank him for making such life changing events into such a positive experience.

Mr Frame is a highly skilled surgeon who performed a mastectomy with reconstructive surgery followed by an uplift to the other breast which due to his skill has resulted in my boobs looking like when I was a teenager! Mr Frame explained everything so clearly that I was always confident in what he was going to be doing with each operation. He always answered my questions fully and when I had issues with leakage from the operation site that he had had to re-dress as the weekend approached, he was very clear that I should seek assistance from A and E by asking the staff there to ring him personally so that he could ensure I was not waiting unnecessarily. I never felt rushed at appointments, he always explained the positives and the risks of each operation and treatment options so that I was able to make a fully informed decision about my treatment. His relaxed manner enabled me to be confident in everything that he suggested and I am so pleased with the results which have had such a positive impact on my self esteem.

Richard Frame is excellent at what he does. He explains everything in a clear and professional way and goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease and comfortable. When my results came back, he made it a priority to call me to let me know the good news just before Christmas in his own time, which I really appreciated. An exceptional surgeon, as both my lumpectomy and removal of lymph nodes were extracted with just one incision. I would highly recommend him to all breast cancer patients.

Excellent, would highly recommend. Richard always answers any questions or concerns openly and honestly whether it's about long term care or HRT. I always feel I can contact him at anytime if I am worried about anything.
