I was an NHS patient lucky enough to be allocated a partial knee procedure at Pinehill Hospital under Mr Raj Thakrar. Throughout my procedure, Mr Thakrar was very professional but also down to earth, friendly and approachable. The whole experience was positive and I would recommend Mr Thakrar and his team wholeheartedly to anyone with any reservations. Many thanks to you all at Pinehill Hospital.

Overall experience was good, feel I was very well looked after . I did feel a little bit overwhelmed on day of departure. I felt a little bit rushed with everyone explaining what pills to take and when and what physio to do and when. Also with the physio I was given to do at home from the onset, some of the exercises where impossible for someone to do with the op I had and possibly could of done more harm than good if someone was to attempt them . Maybe the exercise sheet given should be Taylor made for the patient condition. Would also recommend Pinehill buying a aircrest kryo machine to maybe to use straight after the op or at least to show the patient how to use correctly. With my little moan or suggestion done . I would like to thank everyone involved in my hospital stay and appreciate all the hard work they put in . A little extra thank you to the lovely night man / nurse who kept bringing me tea and biscuits top man . And a super big thank you to Raj ( superstar )

Mr Thakrar explained the whole procedure and despite having two injections, I can honestly say it was a pleasant visit. I’m feeling better already.

Mr Thakrar was very helpful throughout the process from pre-operative physio through to the day of the operation. Mr Thakrar provided reassurance with the procedure and clearly detailed the steps on how the procedure would be completed, as well as discussing a timeline of recovery and how this would be optimally achieved. Any queries that I had were quickly answered by Mr Thakrar and his secretary. On the day of the operation Mr Thakrar walked through the procedure again prior, and then checked in with me the following morning post operation. From start to finish it has been excellent service, and I could not recommend Mr Thakrar more highly to anyone requiring a procedure.

Can’t speak highly enough of Mr Thakrar. The entire journey, and it was a long one, was superbly managed by him. No surprises, lots of information and done in an incredibly professional and friendly manner. Can’t speak highly enough about my experience. And 3 months later both kneels are so much better!

Excellent overall. Raj is professional, competent and friendly. My only negatives after 6 weeks are as follows:- 1. The leg compression bands used for the first night in hospital are totally ineffective and do not function as required. This problem has been known for several years and it should be rectified. 2. The “one size fits all” pain management program needs more individual focus. 3. The physio program is sorely lacking as it there is nothing pro-active about it.

Excellent service throughout. All staff very helpful and caring
