I cannot speak highly enough of Professor Kotecha and the entire team who looked after me throughout my surgery for a deviated septum and nasal polyps. From the very beginning, Professor Kotecha was exceptional at explaining the problems I was experiencing. He took the time to draw diagrams of my sinuses to help me understand exactly what was going on, and carefully talked me through the treatment options and any potential side effects. His clear explanations, patience and reassuring manner really put my mind at ease and gave me complete confidence in the process. The care I received from the whole team was equally outstanding. Everyone was professional, kind and attentive, and I felt very well looked after throughout my hospital stay. Professor Kotecha even came to check on me personally, which I really appreciated. The care continued after I returned home, with a follow-up call from the anaesthetist to check how I was doing. It was reassuring to know that the team genuinely cared about my recovery, both in hospital and afterwards. The procedure and the whole experience were far smoother and easier than I had anticipated. Looking back, if I had known how straightforward and reassuring the entire journey would be, I would have had it done much sooner! I am incredibly grateful to Professor Kotecha and his entire team for their expertise, compassion and excellent care. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering similar treatment. I believe that Professor Kotecha’s reputation and professional qualifications speak for themselves. I would therefore like to submit my review based on my personal experience regarding a recent treatment. I suffered from an ear infection that became progressively worse and did not react to anti-biotics and drops to remedy the issue. I then met the Professor! At once, his congenial manner and obvious intelligence put me at ease and garnered an instant level of trust and confidence in him. His questions were specific and different to anything asked before. We began a series of treatments, that staved the infection but did not supress this issue. The Professor was not satisfied and varied the treatment but also took samples from my inner ear and increased my sessions until a CT scan was arranged. It would have been easy to continue this path; I was now totally deaf in this ear and was losing colour and physical wellbeing. The inventive and varied approach by the Professor led to the identification of Malignant otitis externa, which he operated on successfully. His professionalism throughout, stopped any concerns I had about my health – I had complete trust and I genuinely feel that his sheer professionalism and confidence that he could resolve my issue made me feel 20% better, simply by being in the safest-of-safe-hands. I have never met an individual like the Professor, his depth of knowledge, his approach and his confidence I consider was relaxing for myself and removed any stress from my situation.
