About Dr Pardis Mostajabi

Dr Pardis Mostajabi is a general adult consultant psychiatrist with extensive clinical, teaching and management experience. She has endorsement in rehabilitation psychiatry, working with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. She also developed experience at Addiction psychiatry.

she also held an honorary research consultant position with Impetial College at More Kare research study.

She has over 16 years of experience within the NHS, treating mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), somatoform disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, dual diagnosis and addiction psychiatry.

Prior to joining Priory, Dr Mostajabi was a consultant psychiatrist at West London NHS Trust establishing and leading a busy community mental health team and was heavily involved in the transformation process of the community mental health teams at Hammersmith and Fulham. Prior to that, she established a primary care mental health team at Hammersmith and Fulham, providing support for local GP practices in treating patients with different mental health difficulties..

She has experience working in the liaison team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Central North West London Mental Health Trust, treating vast range of mental health difficulties for patients who were admitted to the general hospital. She has experience at treating mental health in patients who had a diagnosis of HIV. She has worked in acute psychiatry, as an inpatient consultant, and as a crisis team and home treatment team consultant at Hertfordshire.

She is passionate about teaching and training; she was educational and clinical supervisor for higher trainees, core trainees and foundation doctors. She taught medical students from Imperial College attached to her clinics and is a practical assessment of clinical examination skills (PACES) examiner. She was also an honorary imperial teaching consultant.

She values high quality of care and was medical lead for the electronic prescribing project at West London NHS Trust to improve quality of care using IT.

Prior to specialising in psychiatry she worked in a variety of medical settings, including gastroenterology, surgery and A&E departments, and understands the importance of considering physical health problems in the context of people’s mental health.

Position at Priory

Dr Pardis Mostajabi joined Priory Hospital Roehampton in 2023 as a general adult and addiction consultant psychiatrist. She is managing the inpatient and outpatient care of individuals with a variety of addiction and mental health difficulties, offering patient-centred assessments and treatment. Dr Mostajabi is a passionate, experienced psychiatrist who is highly professional and caring. Her aim is to provide holistic, high quality care. She recognises the role of families and carers’ collaborative dialogue in the provision of holistic care to her patients.

Training

Dr Mostajabi qualified in 2003 with an MD from Tehran University, Iran, and completed their Psychiatry training in the UK on the North West London Psychiatry Training Scheme. They are a Section 12(2A) approved clinician under the Mental Health Act 1983 and have been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) since 2010. Additionally, Dr Mostajabi obtained an MSc in Research in Psychiatry from University College London (UCL) in 2013.

Dr Mostajabi worked as a clinical research fellow in the Digestive Disease Research Centre (DDRC) for 2 years following her graduation from medical school.


As higher trainee in psychiatry, she completed an MSc within the neuroscience department of UCL, entitled ‘Psychiatric Research’. She conducted a meta-analysis and a research project on:


360-Degree Feedback of Consultant Psychiatrists; Impact on Professional Performance a  retrospective study September 2013, she lead on this research study with support of the Centre for Quality Improvement, of The Royal College of Psychiatrists. Abstract was presented in 22nd European Congress of Psychiatry (EPA 2014).


Systematic Review on the use of Multi-source feedback MSF, to assess and improve clinical performance, February 2013.


She worked with Professor Mike Crawford on designing and conducting a research project on the relationship between price paid for alcohol, alcohol consumption and income. This study was supported by Imperial College and was published in 2012.


She worked with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in identifying and recruiting clients to the LABILE study, 2013, was co-investigator for the CEQUEL study, 2011, and was recruiter for the OASIS study, 2011.


She understands the importance and value of research in her professional development as well as providing excellent patient care. She keeps up to date with clinical psychopharmacology and supports her patients in making informed choices regarding their treatment and care.
