Mr Noman Zafar

Noman Zafar is a consultant surgeon based in London. He is based at Northwick Park Hospital, where he provides specialist care in gastrointestinal, general, and emergency surgery.

He graduated from Dow Medical University in 2000 and began his NHS career in 2003, gaining broad surgical experience across multiple specialties before completing his postgraduate training in the UK. He obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2006 and later achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2015, specialising in general surgery with an interest in coloproctology.

During his training at Northwick Park Hospital, he worked extensively with inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor teams at St Mark’s Hospital, developing particular expertise in complex benign gastrointestinal conditions. He has published peer-reviewed research in general surgery and coloproctology and has presented at national and international conferences.

Mr Zafar specialises in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and video-assisted procedures, particularly for conditions such as hernias, gallbladder disease, and colorectal disorders. His clinical practice also includes emergency general surgery, managing acute conditions such as appendicitis, bowel obstruction, and perforation. He played a key role in developing Same Day Emergency Care services at Northwick Park Hospital and is involved in teaching through Imperial College London, where he contributes to the training of medical students and junior surgeons.
