Dr Nicholas Jenkins

Dr Nicholas Jenkins is a dedicated Consultant Anaesthetist who provides patient-centred perioperative care across a wide spectrum of surgical disciplines. With an emphasis on patient safety, physical comfort, and effective pain relief, he collaborates closely with multidisciplinary surgical teams to deliver tailored anaesthetic care. Dr Jenkins works to ensure that patients are thoroughly informed, reassured, and supported throughout every stage of their surgical procedure, from pre-operative assessment through to post-operative recovery.

His clinical expertise covers a comprehensive array of medical fields, including upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, gynaecological procedures, and trauma and orthopaedic surgery. Dr Jenkins holds particular interest in ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia, an advanced technique that allows for precise nerve blocks to enhance patient comfort, minimise post-operative discomfort, and reduce reliance on systemic pain medications. His practice prioritises individualised care, adapting anaesthetic plans to suit each patient's specific health profile and surgical needs.

Dr Jenkins completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Southampton, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Honours in 2007 and a Bachelor of Medicine (BM) in 2008. He subsequently undertook specialist postgraduate training in anaesthesia, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) in 2014 and receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anaesthetics in 2017. He remains an active Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, maintaining the highest standard of clinical excellence and staying up to date with modern advancements in anaesthetic medicine.
