Dr Nekma Mila Meah is a Consultant Dermatologist with a specialist interest in the management of alopecia and scalp disorders. She achieved her medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Manchester in 2007 and went on to undertake her foundation training in the West Midlands before starting her specialist dermatology training programme in Liverpool. She qualified as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2017.
Dr Meah undertook an international fellowship in hair and scalp disorders under Professor Rodney Sinclair in Australia, and has published extensively in this area. She runs a specialist hair clinic at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust and is currently the Honorary Secretary of the British Hair and Nail Society.
In her post as Consultant Dermatologist at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, she sees all aspects of general dermatology including medical dermatology (acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis), skin cancers, mole checks, as well as performing regular dermatological surgery. In addition to running the specialist hair clinic, she manages patients in the specialist biologics clinic for patients with severe psoriasis.
Dr Meah is passionate about dermatology, teaching and research. She is Undergraduate Lead at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, Honorary Clinical Lecturer at The University of Manchester and serves on the steering committee for the global COVID-19 alopecia registry – SECURE alopecia.

Considering I waited months for this appointment I was in the room for no more than 10 minutes to be told I had scabies even though I had no skin condition on anywhere but my lower legs and no one in family had it too so I followed direction an done the cream of which I had to pay for and it did not work being a private patient I expected more time an consideration considering the pain I've been going through and hope that you get to the bottom of this condition as it was far too rushed on initial consultation let's hope my next appointment will be more thorough in finding out the problem which has dogged me for years .

Nekma is a fantastic doctor, she has excellent bedside manner, and is a true expert in her field. I went to see Dr Meah about my scalp given she has published extensively in this area of medicine. She took a full history without jumping to conclusions, and have a diagnosis, explaining the reasoning behind it. She also incidentally noticed a mole I needed to have removed and arranged for it to be excised. She is clearly very passionate about her work.

Dr Meah was very professional and put me at ease immediately. She talked to me in detail about my condition and answered all my questions. I found her to be very knowledgeable and she gave me a range of treatment options.
