Dr Neil Stone specialises in infectious diseases and medical microbiology at The Physicians' Clinic. He has the expertise and experience to treat a wide range of bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections. His particular interest is in complex imported fungal infections (medical mycology) and infection in immune-compromised patients.
He completed his undergraduate medical training at Guy's, King's College and St. Thomas' School of Medicine (GKT) before undertaking postgraduate specialist training in infectious diseases at University College Hospital, Royal Free, St. Thomas' and St George's hospitals in London. In addition to this, he has also completed a PhD on antifungal drug resistance at St. George's University of London.
In addition, he has worked extensively with tropical and imported infections while studying and living in various countries across Africa and as a consultant at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Currently, he sees patients suffering from acute or chronic infectious diseases, including hospital-acquired infections, drug-resistant infections, or chronic infections.
Dr Stone is also involved in research, and his work focuses on drug-resistant and complex fungal infections.
