Neil Davey began his career in physiotherapy after earning his B.Sc. (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham in 1996. Initially, he followed the conventional path like many others in his field but soon became disillusioned with the limited effectiveness of traditional treatments.
Everything changed for Neil in 2009 when, as the owner of Exeter Physio, he was introduced to an alternative approach that resonated with his beliefs and frustrations. This new approach, backed by science and research, revolutionised his practice and led to dramatically improved patient outcomes. Neil witnessed patients recovering quickly with just one or two sessions and maintaining their wellness independently.
Following this, Neil abandoned the short-term, dependency-creating treatments in favour of a research-based, patient-focused method known as cognitive functional therapy (CFT). This approach addressed the true drivers of symptoms and provided long-lasting improvement, reducing the need for ongoing treatment and lowering costs.
Since then, Neil has dedicated himself to developing skills that benefit his patients. Alongside his private practice work, Neil has also collaborated with high-level sports teams, including the European PGA Golf tour for over five years and the Exeter Chiefs RFC for over five years. Through his commitment to evidence-based care and patient-focused solutions, Neil continues to make a meaningful impact in the field of physiotherapy.

Neil is incredibly passionate about his work and genuinely committed to supporting your recovery. He is extremely knowledgeable and identified things about my body and movement that I hadn’t even noticed myself. He taught me effective ways to manage the pain, along with coping strategies to help build a stronger back naturally.
Neil has shown me a whole new approach to getting back to good back health. His approach has set me on a clear path to recovery. I am really glad I found him!
All my concerns and fears were addressed with understanding and clear explanation. I felt truly heard and the advice I was given has empowered me to take charge of the situation and improve my ability to get on with my life unhindered by pain and fear. So far it has been a great success and I couldn't be happier. It wasn't about chaining me to endless appointments but empowering me to be in control of my outcomes. Excellent.
Neil was very professional and focused on my problem, advice was clear and positive.
I’ve been to many physios, chiros, osteos over the years. I came to Neil after my third spinal operation. It is no overstatement to say that in one 90 minute session he changed my life and I’m now a fierce advocate for functional physical therapy.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. It's a great story. Keep up the good work. BW The Transform Health Team
Neil is brilliant to work with, friendly and informative, not afraid to push you hard at times required, which definitely was required! I will miss these sessions. Neil worked wonders for relieving me of my sciatica, teaching me various methods to release the tension and rigidity my body had unknowingly adopted from an injury 8 years ago. This tension was the cause of my pain, numerous nhs and private doctors, physiotherapists and chiropractors had failed to reach such great results. I now carry myself naturally relaxed, move without gait, stiffness or tension, which before was how my mind was subconsciously controlling my body, keeping the pain there. I’m now free from pain AND the pills i was prescribed; codeine, naproxen, ibuprofen, pregabalin, gabapentin; all which came with negative side effects. Couldn’t be happier with the results!

Wow, another great story which gets us up in the morning. Such a thrill to hear you've got your life back and when all said and done it's down to how you have done it with our guidance. Well done and keep going. BW The Transform Health Team
