Dr Neil Archibald

Dr Neil Archibald is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. With a clinical focus on general neurology, he has developed a particular expertise in movement disorders and cognitive conditions. Dr Archibald is deeply committed to improving the lives of his patients, adopting a holistic approach that ensures each individual receives a tailored and supportive treatment plan.

Throughout his career, Dr Archibald has focused on the management of complex movement disorders, with a specific interest in Parkinson's disease and its associated symptoms, including Parkinson's disease dementia and visual symptoms. His clinical work also encompasses cognitive disorders and the intersection of neurology and psychiatry, often referred to as psychoneurology. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated care pathways, ensuring that patients and their carers are fully supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Dr Archibald completed his medical degree (BM BCh) and Master of Arts (MA) at Oxford University, qualifying in 1999. He subsequently undertook specialist training in neurology and went on to complete a PhD at Newcastle University in 2010, focusing on visual symptoms in neurodegenerative diseases. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and has held leadership roles, including serving as a Clinical Director for Neurology and Stroke.
