Mr Nathan Grimes

Mr Nathan Grimes is a Consultant Urologist with a comprehensive practice that covers the full breadth of core urological care. After graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2012, he undertook a multi-regional surgical training programme, commencing his early training in Northern Ireland before completing higher urology specialty training in Scotland.

He was appointed as a Consultant Urologist at Altnagelvin Hospital in 2021, where he has established a broad clinical practice providing specialist urological care to patients across the North West while managing a wide range of both routine and complex conditions.

With a subspecialty interest in kidney cancer, Mr Grimes is dedicated to the assessment and management of both benign and malignant urological conditions. He has extensive experience in the investigation of suspected urological cancers, including kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer, delivering timely diagnostic assessments to support early detection and appropriate treatment planning. In addition to his oncological work, he provides expert management for general urological concerns, including kidney stones and urinary tract infections.

He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate from Queen's University Belfast and is an active member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional development and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based urological care.
