Dr Nadia Gildeh

Dr Nadia Gildeh is a Consultant in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine with specialist expertise in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic respiratory disorders and a broad range of sleep-related conditions. She has particular interests in general respiratory medicine, asthma and COPD, respiratory infections, pleural disease, breathlessness, chronic cough, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary nodules and respiratory failure.

Her expertise in sleep medicine includes obstructive sleep apnoea, snoring and sleep-disordered breathing, insomnia, insomnia associated with menopause and perimenopause, restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, parasomnias and sleep disruption. She also has extensive experience in bronchoscopy and pleural procedures.

Dr Gildeh qualified from Southampton University Medical School in 2006. She subsequently undertook broad-based training in acute and general medicine, emergency medicine and anaesthetics before completing higher specialty training in Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Medicine. This included two years of training at Guy’s Hospital Sleep Service, where she managed complex sleep disorders and contributed to published research on the systemic complications of sleep apnoea.

She has an active interest in clinical research, particularly sleep apnoea and its systemic complications, complex sleep disorders, and acute and chronic respiratory disease pathways. Dr Gildeh is also involved in medical education, regularly teaching resident doctors, medical students and GPs.
