    About

Mr Jonathan Walczak was born in London and trained at Guys Hospital Medical School from 1981 through to 1987. His post-graduate training included a specialist fellowship in Hip surgery, which took place in 1998.

Later in his career, he became, and remains, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA). Not only this, he has held the post of consultant trauma & orthopaedic surgeon at Bromley NHS Trust since 1999 and is now employed by Kings College NHS trust

His private practices are located at the BMI Sloane, BMI Chelsfield Park, BMI Shirley Oaks, BMI Blackheath, Sevenoaks Medical centre and KIMS in Maidstone. Mr Walczak is more very happy to see both self-funded, insured and NJS Choose and book and is open to readily providing feedback care into the NHS when applicable.

He is recognised by all health insurance companies and has a particular interest in hip and knee replacement and revision replacement, sports medicine including injuries to hips, keyhole knee surgery, knee ligament reconstruction (including Anterior Cruciate ligaments) and calf and foot problems.

Owing to his personal interests as a keen runner and cyclist, Mr Walczak is conscious of the needs of an athlete and he remains committed to allowing people of all abilities to return to sports and physical activity if at all possible.

By all accounts, his patient-focused approach to medical care remains a constituent part of what makes his services so sought after. His philosophy revolves around his desire to do the utmost in making an accurate diagnosis and instigate treatment. He is aware that he may not be able to definitively deal with a given problem, but if he cannot organise appropriate care, he has a network of colleagues in other specialities who will be able to assist.

Mr Walcak: "I pride myself that I and my team are always able to provide a rapid and efficient response to any concern or complication. I feel most strongly that as a Surgeon my responsibility to the patients under my care extends to any problems experienced following discharge, and I feel that I and my team, rather than your General Practitioner, should be on hand to deal with any concerns."

I've been seeing Mr Walczak for almost 5 years now (because of my dodgy knees, not his skill), and I can honestly say this man is a Saint. I have had several surgeries culminating in double knee replacements. Despite my young age (34, rare for replacements), his willingness to provide me with the best possible care and treatment while remaining diligent has been lifesaving. I have only know him to be caring, understanding, knowledgeable, dedicated and professional. His skills are only made better by the amazing team he has supporting. Not only is he an incredible surgeon he is also fascinating and friendly and I like to think I've made a friend for life. If you're looking for the best care the please go and see Mr Walczak he is not only a credit to the medical profession but good humans everywhere.

I chose to visit Jonathan to address my knee issues after reading his reviews here. I wholeheartedly agree with everything written here. Jonathan made me feel at ease immediately; he explained what he suspected my issue was during our first consultation and how he anticipated we could rectify it. Having recommended an MRI, Jonathan then walked me through the findings and explained arthroscopy was required. He attentively walked me through the procedure, explaining the very minimal risks, post-procedure rehabilitation and addressing my worries over general anaesthetic. I had my arthroscopy on Saturday at The Sloane in Beckenham. The procedure was a success and I am home now, working on my rehab. I am grateful to Jonathan for his guidance and expertise and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone planning for orthopaedic surgery.

It was really reassuring to speak to a doctor who understood my issue and spoke in a manner I understood and was clear in my options. I also don’t really enjoy visiting hospitals or doctors and get a bit anxious deep down. But I was made to feel at ease and the whole process was very professional and caring . Thank you.
