About
Gary Bloom is a psychotherapist and counsellor specialising in helping people feel better when they're going through a tough time in their life. Gary knows that most of us end up there at some stage or another. He speaks to all patients in an initial phone call to listen to their issues and see how he is able to help and whether therapy is for them. From there he normally suggests a series of six meetings. He is confident that most major ‘here and now problems’ can be tackled in this period.
During these sessions he discusses if further therapy is a good idea to address long-standing issues to may have been ongoing in patient's lives. There’s no hard or fast rules and he knows and respects that everyone’s history is different.
Gary specialises in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, career issues and addictive behaviours. He also does quite a bit of work with fed-up teenagers who are finding it hard to find their place in the world. He works in schools with pupils who are unhappy and getting into trouble.
Gary works from a clinic in central London every Monday, and works out of his Oxford clinic Tuesday to Friday where there is plenty of car parking and easy access from the ring road.
In addition to his other work, Gary also has a particular interest in working with sportsmen and women who are underachieving in their sport. He works for a professional football league club working with players, coaching staff and admin staff.
