Mr Caspar Aylott is uniquely dual qualified in the UK as an Engineer and Spine surgeon. He also has a Doctorate in Spine. He completed Internationally recognised Fellowships in Nottingham, Auckland (New Zealand) and Bristol.
He was appointed Consultant Spine Surgeon in 2010 in Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He now has busy Independent practices in Cheltenham and London seeing patients from across the UK and abroad.
He is a very friendly and approachable Consultant and communicates clearly to patients giving individuals the time they require.
He has extensive experience in spinal diagnosis and the conservative and surgical management of most spine problems. He specialises especially in spine injections, minimal access surgery, microdiscectomy, decompression, dynamic stabilisation, disc replacement, fusion, osteoporotic fractures and kyphoplasty.
He is also able to perform day case spine surgery under LA avoiding the need for general anaesthesia.
He trains other surgeons in the techniques of Kyphoplasty and Dynamic stabilisation both in the UK, Europe and Asia.
He has more than 30 publications and presents regularly at National and International meetings.
Mr Aylott is a member of EuroSpine and the British Association of Spine Surgeons. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint surgery.
