About Mr Ulrich Rosendahl
Mr Ulrich Rosendahl is a consultant cardiac surgeon based at Royal Brompton Hospital, who treats private and NHS patients.
Mr. Rosendhal studied medicine at the University of Münster, Germany. In 1988, he started his training in heart surgery at Texas Heart Institute, USA, under Dr Denton Cooley, who was famous for performing the first implantation of a total artificial heart. He then trained in general and vascular surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Afterwards, Mr Rosendahl returned to heart surgery and was appointed a training post in heart surgery at the German Heart Centre in Berlin under Professor Roland Hetzer. Subsequently, he became co-founder and then senior consultant at the Heart Centre in Lahr, Germany.
In 2012, he was appointed as a consultant cardiac surgeon at Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
Mr. Rosendhal is highly experienced, with 30-year career in heart surgery, he has performed over 5,000 open heart operations. In addition, he has supervised and observed the clinical course of many more thousands of patients who underwent heart operations.

Dr. Ulrich Rosendahl is an exceptional surgeon — thanks to him, I am alive today. I recently underwent a heart valve replacement, which was a very high-risk operation since I had just completed cancer treatment and was in critical condition. In addition, I do not accept blood transfusions, which made the procedure even more challenging. Many surgeons were reluctant to proceed, but Dr. Rosendahl accepted the case with confidence, compassion, and respect for my wishes. He explained every detail clearly and gave me confidence before the surgery. The operation went perfectly, and my recovery exceeded all expectations. The day after surgery, I was already sitting up, and by the next day, I was walking. Each day since then, I have continued to improve and truly feel that I have my life back. If it weren’t for Dr. Rosendahl’s extraordinary skill, courage, and dedication, I would not be here today.
