Mr Sylvester Amamilo

Mr Sylvester Amamilo is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in joint replacement, particularly of the hip and knee. Additionally, he specialises in performing knee arthroscopies under local anaesthesia, this is suitable for patients who are either not able to go under general anaesthetic or who choose not to.

Mr Amamilo completed his undergraduate medical training at the University College Hospital, Ibadan Nigeria. Following this, he underwent his postgraduate training in Orthopaedics and Trauma in Oxford at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the University of Liverpool. Here he achieved an MCh (Orthopaedics) qualification.

To complement his clinical work, Mr Amamilo was a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University of Nigeria Medical School and Teaching Hospital over a 5-year period. During this time, he aided in treating the orthopaedic problems of the Nigerian President. He moved back to the UK in 1993 and since then has rotated around both NHS and private hospitals as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Mr Amamilo was also listed in the 29th Edition 2012 of Who`s Who in the world by Marquis with a remark that inclusion is limited to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their own field of endeavour and who have thereby contributed significantly to the betterment of contemporary society.

In addition to his work as a surgeon, Mr Amamilo has completed and acquired the University of Cardiff Law School Expert Certificate which he was awarded in 2008, following this he takes a keen interest in Medico-Legal reports.
