About Mr Stephen Brown

Mr Stephen Brown is an experienced Consultant Urologist with a long-standing career in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of urological conditions. His clinical interests include female urology, endourology and stone surgery, prostate disease, and general urological care.

Mr Brown began his academic training at the University of Cambridge, where he completed a BA in 1978 and later an MA in 1982. He went on to study medicine at Westminster Medical School, graduating with an MB BS in 1981. He subsequently gained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and later achieved an MD from the University of London for research focusing on kidney function.

He undertook his surgical and urological training at several major centres across Manchester, including Manchester Royal Infirmary and the University Hospital of South Manchester. In 1995, he was appointed Consultant Urologist at Stepping Hill Hospital.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Brown has played an active role in medical education and training. He has examined in urology for the Royal College of Surgeons, served as Programme Director for Urology Training in the North West, and contributed to national training committees. He is also a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
