His professional approach makes patients feel confident. Mr Monkhouse and his team provide superb aftercare, with patients receiving ongoing advice for years. Many patients specifically highlight gastric sleeve surgery as a prominent aspect of their positive experience.
I first saw Simon Monkhouse when I had a gallbladder polyp that was growing more than expected along with a family history of gallbladder cancer. After discussing this with Simon and reading the information provided I made the decision to have my gallbladder removed. I was able to book a time that suited me and was looked after very well by Simon and the team at Gatwick Park. I am pleased to report that I am recovering well.
Simon was brilliant from the consultation right through to my aftercare. How many surgeons participate on facebook and supports all their patients with advice and help when we need it. The team that supports Simon are also outstanding you never feel alone. I can honestly say that I could not have wished for a better experience.
Mr Monkhouse has provided me with outstanding care following a recent diagnosis. The care and empathy he has given me at a difficult time is priceless. Mr Monkhouse is knowledgable, reliable and genuinely cares about his patients. I couldn’t have asked for more from a surgical consultant and I couldn’t recommend him more highly.
I was lucky to have found Mr Monkhouse one evening, I read some reviews and thought he sounds good . I contacted for a consultation and he answered! I was surprised that he’d have time, but he really does care and is interested in our journeys. I went in for a consultation and just knew I’d be ok. At the end of the appointment I said “yeah book me in for that one” sleeve. Two months later I’m wheeling down the corridor and I see Mr Monkhouse and the brilliant anaesthetist waiting for me outside theatre. Few hours later I’m alive and in my room again! Can’t quite believe I’ve done this. Mr Monkhouse came to see me, very lovely and kind and informative. Since then I’ve asked questions on our Facebook group and the one thing I have really noticed and absolutely love is Mr Monkhouse makes comments and answers things. I have no idea how he has the time, but I still feel looked after now, 4 months on and 3 and a half stone down!
I was an extremely sad person until I met Simon . He changed my life . His calming manner gave me the strength to go through with my life changing operation , the sleeve . No one understood me like Simon did . He listened . That’s hard to find , someone who cares enough to listen . I’m 2 years now with my sleeve . I live life to the fall and can now have photos with my children . His after care is like no other . He has an amazing team . I know I only have to pick up the phone and someone is there ., even now 2 years on That’s a safety net that got me through it all . I owe him my life . Thank you Simon
I have so far had 1 consultation with Simon in regards to the possibility of having Bariatric surgery. I found him to be very pleasant and informative of the options he feels would be best for me. The appointment ran on time and I left feeling reassured that should I decide to proceed I will be in safe hands .
Mr Monkhouse has provided me with constant support since my operation 4 years ago, I still ask him for advice when I need it. I would recommend him 100%. Best surgeon ever!!
Mr Monkhouse has the most outstanding bedside manner I have ever seen from a consultant. He listened and explained absolutely everything with the upmost sincerity and confidence needed to make me feel listened to, respected and understood, let alone at complete ease.
Simon is a fantastic surgeon. The support he and his team give is unparalleled. I have never known any other doctor to be so actively involved with his patient group.
