Mr Simon Jordan

Mr Simon Jordan joined the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust in 2006 as a consultant thoracic surgeon and is the chair of the cancer team at Royal Brompton Hospital.

He has expertise in the following areas:

• Single port VATS lung resection for lung cancer
• Adult and paediatric thoracic surgery
• Primary lung cancer surgery (including single-port video-assisted thoracic surgery lobectomy and anatomical segmentectomy)
• Tracheobronchial (airway) surgery
• Primary and metastatic chest sarcoma
• Lung volume reduction surgery for emphysema (COPD)
• Airway stenting

Mr Jordan gained his MD from Imperial College London for his work on the inflammatory response of the lung following major chest surgery.

He completed his general thoracic surgery training at the Royal Brompton Hospital, St Bartholomew's Hospital, and the London Chest Hospital. He has also trained in Belfast, Bristol, and Leeds.
