Mr Tanawade showed me great compassion on my first visit, as I was extremely stressed after being told by my optician I was losing my sight and there was no cure. He talked me through my diagnosis after a thorough examination explained the procedure I could have, if needed. I have just had my third monitoring appointment and he continues to deliver excellent diagnosis with continued compassion.

Mr. Tanawade's care has been exemplary. His compassionate and caring manner is allied with clear explanations using diagrams, models and analogies to ensure that consent is truly 'informed'. He clearly explains risks, reasons and expected benefit of treatment and, although a layperson, the experience of eye surgery whilst conscious by three different consultants suggests that he possesses superior skills. I am also impressed by the improvements I have seen in the clinics he leads over the past 3 years. I am a deeply appreciative and grateful patient who understands exactly how my sight was threatened and how Mr. Tanawade has led teams and colleagues to preserve it. The gift of good sight is priceless. The Opthalmic team at BVH and St. Paul's have given me this gift, under the direction of Mr. Tanawade.

I was very worried about the sight of my right eye . At my first appointment with Mr Tanawade he did tests and diagrams, clearly explaining the future procedure His manner was professional, calm and understanding. I did not feel hurried during the consultation. Mr Tanawade and the whole team explained everything again before the operation. They were all so calm and reassuring throughout. Post operative care was looked after by Mr Tanawade and then also the following appointments. What was lovely as my eyesight improved Mr Tanawade was genuinely pleased ...as am I. I would like to say a big thank to Mr T and all the team.

Very polite, respectful and reassuring. Very good explanation of my condition, the various options available and potential issues, all in a manner which was understandable to a non- medic. Mr. Tanawade's manner to myself, my wife and his staff was excellent.

Mr Tanawade perfirmed a remedial operation to my left eye following a complex cataract procedure. His procedure was impeccable in the saving of my sight. I also had to have retinal procedure to remove oil folowwing a retinal detachment of my left eye.

Mr Tanawade has a very pleasant approach with patients. He takes time to consider their comments and responds well to their questions. He takes time to explain what he intends to do and how he will do it. At the same time pointing out any potential problems that may arrise as a result of the procedure he intends to carry out. At no time did I feel he rushed through anything and he always wanted me to acknowledge that I had understood his instructions. During my catarract operation he made me feel at ease and explained what was happening as relevant. I felt the time he took prior to the operation was certainly beneficial in the results of the operation. I could see that afterwards he was genuinely very pleased with the results as indeed I was. I would certainly recommend him to my colleagues and friends.

I have had many appointments with Mr Tanawade and have always found him to be extremely professional, kind and approachable during what can be a stressful time. I had complete confidence in his expertise and appointments were never rushed, giving me as much time as necessary to ask questions. I could not be more delighted with the results of my surgeries and would not hesitate to consult him again should the need arise.
