About Mr Petr Holy
Mr Petr Holy is a Consultant Urologist at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust, with extensive specialist expertise in men’s urological health. He qualified in medicine from Charles University, Prague, completed postgraduate specialist urological training and held several clinical posts before his appointment as Consultant Urologist at Kingston Hospital in 2016.
His main clinical interest is the management of benign prostatic enlargement (BPH) and male lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). He offers the full range of treatment options, matched to each patient’s symptoms, prostate size and priorities. These range from minimally invasive day-case procedures that preserve sexual function, including Rezūm water vapour therapy, iTind and TPLA (EchoLaser transperineal laser ablation), to established surgical treatments such as TURiS and HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate) for larger glands.
Mr Holy also has a specialist interest in prostate cancer diagnosis, performing transperineal targeted MRI-fusion prostate biopsies. He assesses patients for proton beam radiotherapy and inserts rectal hydrogel spacers (SpaceOAR and Barrigel) to reduce the side effects of prostate radiotherapy.
He set up the Kingston vasectomy service in 2018. He has performed a large number of vasectomies under local anaesthetic. He provides no-scalpel vasectomy under local anaesthetic.

Pete explained everything clearly and helped me feel comfortable. While carrying out the procedure he checked if I was okay
I attended Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for a prostate biopsy. The Clinic receptionist was welcoming and efficient, and nursing staff were courteous, informative and put me immediately at ease. Mr Holy explained in detail why the procedure was necessary, and how it was to be carried out. The procedure itself was occasionally a little uncomfortable, but otherwise pain free, and Mr. Holy was at all times careful to confirm that I was happy for him to proceed. I have nothing but the highest praise for all the staff involved.
Mr Holy was very kind and explained everything very clearly. He had an excellent 'bed-side' manner and conducted the procedure very professionally.
A lot less traumatic than I expected due to professionalism and kindness of the surgeon and the team.
