About Mr Peter Cooke
Mr Peter Cooke specialises in diagnostic urology, benign prostate and scrotal surgery and prostate and bladder cancer.
He is a leading urological surgeon and cancer specialist at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust with over 20 years of experience and is highly specialized in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He is the Clinical Lead in Urology for the Black Country and West Birmingham Integrated Care System. Former roles include Clinical Director in Urology, chair of the Trust Senior Medical Staff Committee, and chair of the West Midlands Cancer Alliance Urology Expert Advisory Group.
Mr Cooke has a special interest in the treatment of prostate and bladder cancer and is ranked among the top 20 prostate cancer surgeons in the UK. He has personally performed over 1500 complex urological cases, including over 1000 robotic radical prostatectomies. He was the first surgeon in any specialty to offer da Vinci robot-assisted surgery in the Midlands region, and he led the introduction of robotic surgery at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust in 2010/11.
He founded Midlands Urology in 2007, and has build a thriving and innovative private practice with his specialist colleagues.
Mr Cooke is highly respected in his field and has numerous publications in respected international journals, including The Lancet. He has presented his work at national and international meetings in Europe and the USA. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the European Association of Urology, and the American Urological Association.

We visited Peter at very short notice for a consultation regarding my husband's upcoming prostate biopsy. Peter was extremely welcoming, friendly and put us at ease straight away. He was very clear in how he explained his thoughts about our situation and put our minds at rest regarding the current treatment path. We would definitely book again with Peter for advice/ treatment.
I found Mr Cooke to be extremely professional , knowledgeable and has a very pleasant approach and personality. He helped me immensely and I would 100% recommend him.
I always felt fully supported and never rushed in my consultations by Mr Cooke. I felt i was in very safe hands and that he honestly cared about me and my situation. He listened when i explaind my pasy medical history and resulting mental health issues taking these into concideration reasureing me through every step.

He reassured me about my procedure and in relation to starting self catheterisation. He always took time to answer any questions and I left each consultation knowing exactly what the next steps were. Everything about Mr Peter Cooke's approach to helping me was outstanding. His explanations and analysis of the most suitable way forward really made the choices clear. The surgical treatment and aftercare were both excellent and, for me, the outcome has been successful. I have no reservations in recommending him.
