Mr Peter Cnudde

Mr Peter Cnudde is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, specializing in knee and hip surgery as well as general orthopaedics and trauma. Mr Cnudde is well known for his excellent technical skills, high-quality care and compassion with patients, ensuring that his patient's well-being is at the centre of any decision.

In his final year of medical school at Leuven University, Belgium, Mr Cnudde began his specialist training and went on to complete his basic surgical training in both the UK and Belgium. He then went on to complete two fellowships, one in Belgium (2001-2002) and the other in the United States (2003).

Mr Cnudde is well known for his leadership at Prince Philip Hospital, where under his leadership, the hospital became known as a centre for elective surgery in West Wales, and the principles of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery were brought in.

More recently, in 2015, Mr Cnudde completed a postgraduate certificate from the University of Wales, in Medical Leadership and then went on to work towards his PhD in Sweden. He has focused his research on the longitudinal outcomes post total hip replacement. He successfully defended his thesis in public on 23/03/2018. Mr Cnudde's scientific research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he often attends meetings both in the UK and internationally on such various orthopaedic and trauma topics. He is still active in big data research and is associated with the NJR, Swedish Hip Arthroplasty Register and the Sahlgrenska Academy of the University of Gothenburg.

Mr Cnudde has been awarded the prestigious Rothman-Ranawat fellowship, sponsored by the Hip Society and will travel to the state-of-the-art and world -reknown arthroplasty centers in North America.

Peter Cnudde has a keen interest in watersports (Sailing, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing), mountain sports (skiing, mountaineering) and cycling. He is a qualified lifeguard.
