About Mr Paul Spraggs

Mr. Paul Spraggs is a Consultant ENT and Head and Neck Surgeon with a career spanning over three decades. He qualified in 1987 and has been a Consultant at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 1998.

Mr. Spraggs specialises in the surgical treatment of skin cancers, thyroid and parathyroid diseases, salivary gland disorders, rhinoplasty, facial aesthetic surgery, and reconstructive head and neck surgery following cancer treatment. His expertise extends to pinnaplasty (ear reshaping) and advanced techniques in head and neck reconstruction.

He received his postgraduate training in London, which included specialised training in Head and Neck Surgery in Miami, Florida. Additionally, he completed prestigious fellowships in Head and Neck Oncology and Thyroid Surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, as well as the EAFPS Fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery in Helsinki.

A leader in his field, Mr. Spraggs is certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in cosmetic surgery for the nose (rhinoplasty) and ears (pinnaplasty). He served as Clinical Director for Head and Neck Services and Lead for Head and Neck Cancer at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2011 to 2019. He has also been an active member of the Skin Cancer and Thyroid multidisciplinary teams (MDT) at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, as well as the regional SWSH Head and Neck Cancer MDT.

In addition to his clinical practice, Mr. Spraggs has made significant contributions to the surgical community. He is a Council Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and ENT UK and served as an SAC member from 2014 to 2020. An advocate for medical education, he has been on the Royal College of Surgeons’ Board of Examiners since 2003 and has acted as an Intercollegiate Examiner since 2010.
