About Mr Paul Magill
Mr Paul Magill is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with nearly a decade of experience in hip replacement surgery and knee replacement surgery. He sees private patients in Newry and Belfast.
Mr Magill earned his primary medical qualification at Trinity College Dublin, after which he was placed on the highly competitive Irish Trauma and Orthopaedics Surgical training programme. He then gained a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons, during which time, he gained crucial knowledge and expertise in hip replacement surgery and also knee replacement surgery. He had the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, such as the renowned Professor Beverland.
Mr Magill spent his last year of training in New Zealand, where he gained experience in computer-navigated surgery and revision surgery. Upon completion, he was appointed Consultant in 2018. Since his appointment, Mr Magill has become the first in Northern Ireland to undertake and introduce day-care hip replacement surgery. He is also a keen advocate for the improvement of clinical outcomes, evidenced by his Master's degree in Surgery. Mr Magill is also a regular publisher in clinical journals and is frequently invited to speak at orthopaedic conferences.
