About Mr Nicholas De Roeck
Mr Nicholas (Nick) de Roeck is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in adult hip and knee conditions. He has been a Consultant at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust since 2007, where his NHS practice focuses on the treatment of adult hip and knee problems, including complex hip conditions. His private practice is based at Pinehill Hospital in Hitchin and One Hatfield Hospital.
Mr de Roeck studied medicine at the University of Manchester and completed his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation, finishing in 2005. In 2006, he undertook a one-year specialist Fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery in Auckland, New Zealand, further developing advanced expertise in joint replacement techniques.
His clinical interests include adult hip and knee problems, sports injuries and osteoarthritis. He performs primary and revision hip replacement surgery, hip arthroscopy and management of groin pain, including femoroacetabular impingement. In addition, he carries out total and partial knee replacement as well as knee arthroscopy, providing comprehensive surgical and non-surgical management tailored to each patient’s needs.

Fantastic! He is a very kind and calm professional who is very knowledgeable and who explains everything in a clear and reassuring manner. I was in his hands and felt very comfortable about it. Mr De aRoerk answered all my questions with confidence and immediately gave me the confidence too to go forward. As we left the hospital after discharge he made a point of coming over to acknowledge me and to ask how l was. I was very impressed with his care and attention.
Mr De Roeck agreed to take me on even though he did not perform the initial surgery. He is fully conversant with the problems I am experiencing and has explained the situation to me clearly along with possible remedial steps he may take following the results of the x-ray and scans he has ordered.
I felt I was in good safe hands at every turn. I simply could not fault the care and expertise of all concerned.
