About Mr Neil Modi
Mr Modi graduated in 2005 from the University of London and completed his higher specialist surgical Ophthalmology training on the South West Peninsula rotation. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2014.
Mr Modi is a full member of the Unoted Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons(UKISCRS), the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) and the United Kingdom and Eire Glaucoma Society (UKEGS). Mr Modi is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey, specialising in cataract, glaucoma, and oculoplastic (eyelid) surgery. He previously held the post of Lead Consultant for Ophthalmology at FrImley Park and is currently leading the glaucoma service and the laser eye service.
Mr Modi is responsible for training future eye surgeons as the lead trainer for eye surgery simulation in the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex region. He sits on the clinical skills and simulation committee at the Royal Colege of Ophthalmologists. He has co-authored an ophthalmology textbook with Oxford University Press and has published extensively in the field.
His practice includes cataract surgery (including laser cataract surgery and the use of extended depth of field, multi focal and toric lenses), glaucoma treatment (laser and surgical including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery), and oculoplastics (including eyelid tumours, malposition, droopy lids, and blepharoplasty). He also treats dry eyes, blepharitis and epiphora (watery eyes).
