Absolutely fantastic ! The initial of going into surgery was like being on a alian space ship and very cold from air conditioning but was soon put to sleep. It felt like only two minutes had passed but know it took longer. Thank you so much for taking care of me. x

Everything went very well. After being shown to my room Mr Keeling came to thoroughly explain the procedure and answer any questions as did the anaesthetist. Excellent hospital and staff.

Mr Keeling and all the staff at the hospital were extremely friendly and efficient. Mr Keeling explained the procedure and the diet I should follow before the operation which hopefully made the required difference to my liver to prevent bleeding etc. The operation appears to have gone very well. After a week of pain and tiredness I felt almost back to normal which was quicker than I expected. I was in a lot of pain just after the operation and was struggling to control the pain for the first 3-4 days. I wasn’t given any pain medication when leaving the hospital and relied on paracetamol and ibuprofen only. I have been given at least codeine in the past for 3 similar operations so I was slightly surprised. I was able to manage the pain well from day 5 onwards. It was very useful having a doctor on call the night of the operation as my temperature stated to rise but the doctor explained this wasn’t an issue as only slightly raised and what I should look out for. All in all the operation was as positive experience as I expected.

My whole experience of the procedure from start to finish was exemplary. However, since leaving the hospital, I have had chronic constipation which is still ongoing, possibly a UTI as passing urine is extremely difficult. A sample will be tested tomorrow. My GP has given me medication to help but with no results so far. I am sure that as soon as the constipation disappears all will be well. In the meantime I am in a lot of pain and unable to sleep.

Mr Keeling is very easy to talk to which makes the whole experience much easier
