About Mr John P Murphy
Mr John Paul Murphy is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. He has been working as a Consultant at both Northwick Park Hospital and the Clementine Churchill Hospital since 1996. He provides a specialised service in Hip, Knee and Shoulder problems as well as soft tissue injuries and fractures.
Mr Murphy graduated in Medicine from Glasgow University in 1984, before undertaking specialist surgical training. In 1988 he was awarded a Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and subsequently a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery 1995.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Murphy has an active interest in research and has been published in a number of peer reviewed journals.

Mr Murphy was polite and courteous. He asked me all the necessary questions, although the consultation seemed rushed (I put it down to a busy clinic). I was referred for a scan and told that I would be contacted once the scan results were in.
Appointment was on time, everything was explained in clear terms and left me feeling very reassured.
I had been struggling for 6 months to get a proper assessment and diagnosis but John Murphy who was friendly and professional, clearly an expert in his field, diagnosed the problem and explained the possible causes of treatment very clearly. A great experience and would recommend highly.

From start to finish, everything was clearly explained and handled professionally. Mr Murphy took the time to talk me through the appointment and the MRI diagnostic findings in a way that was easy to understand. I felt listened to, reassured, and well informed throughout. The appointment resulted in a referral for a spinal consultation and I appreciated the clear guidance on the next steps. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I would be happy to recommend Mr Murphy.

I cannot speak highly enough or Mr Murphy and his treatment of me, he was clear and precise of what he was doing, what was needed to be done and any future treatment such as a knee and patella replacement in “hopefully” 5+ years time as long as the knee does not worsen
