Mr Ian Mitchell

Mr Ian Mitchell is an experienced Consultant Urologist with more than two decades of expertise in general urology, uro-oncology and andrology. He graduated with an MB ChB from the University of Glasgow in 1989, continuing a family tradition as the fourth generation to qualify from the institution. He also holds Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, reflecting his commitment to surgical excellence.

For the past 21 years, Mr Mitchell has served as a Consultant Urologist in NHS Fife, where he is the Lead Clinician for the department. Alongside his NHS practice, he offers private consultations and treatments at Spire Edinburgh Hospitals Murrayfield and Shawfair Park.

Mr Mitchell provides comprehensive assessment and surgical management across a wide range of urological conditions. His areas of expertise include benign prostate disease, prostate cancer, hydroceles, epididymal cysts, and andrological concerns. He frequently performs procedures such as cystoscopy, bladder lesion removal, circumcision, hydrocele repair, prostate surgery, laser prostate surgery and vasectomy reversal.

Dedicated to high standards of clinical practice, he is an active member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the Scottish Urological Society. Mr Mitchell is known for his patient-centred approach, combining deep clinical knowledge with clear communication.
