About Mr F R Hashmi
Mr. Faiz Hashmi is an Associate Professor and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the treatment and management of shoulder, hand, and elbow problems including rotator cuff repair, frozen shoulder, elbow replacement, carpal tunnel syndrome, pain and arthritis. He sees private patients at the BMI Meridan Hospital and the Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital.
Mr Hashmi earned his Bachelor's degree in medicine at Islamia University, Pakistan, after which he came to the United Kingdom to undertake his surgical training in the West Midlands and Yorkshire. He was then awarded a shoulder and upper limb surgery fellowship, in addition to another shoulder surgery fellowship in Germany at the University Hospital Klinikum Augsburg, where he gained knowledge and expertise in the management of limb and hand fractures. He also gained a fellowship in France, at the Institut de la Main Paris, an internationally renowned shoulder replacement and hand surgery centre.
Since his Consultant appointment, Mr Hashmi has also actively authored medical textbooks and various peer-reviewed publications in medical journals.

Mr Hashmi treated me for a long term Dupuytren's contracture on one finger. Over decades it had bent to 80 degrees. Surgery was two hours.
Mr Hashmi performed Trapeziectomy surgery on my left base of thumb 9 weeks ago for arthritis in the trapezium bone and I am thrilled with the outcome. . Most importantly, I can now perform increasingly most every day activities pain-free and I can now oppose my thumb almost to the tip of my little finger. This will continue to improve even more so over the next few weeks. Mr. Hashmi was wonderful and explained the procedure and the recovery period very clearly before the decision was made to it done. I’m so pleased it has been done and so successfully. In time I think I may need my other hand to be sorted out but in the meantime I’m enjoying being able to use my left hand pain-free and with increasing strength. Thank you, Mr Hashmi. I will certainly recommend you.
