Mr Ken Harries

Mr Ken Harries is a Consultant General Surgeon based in West Wales, with 17 years of experience in his role. Born and educated in Carmarthen, he studied medicine at the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff and completed his higher surgical training on the Welsh SpR rotation. He maintained a broad focus throughout his training to prepare for a career in District General Hospitals.

His clinical interests include upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic), laparoscopic hernia surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and weight loss surgery. He also offers consultations for gallbladder removal surgery (cholecystectomy), laparoscopic (keyhole) inguinal hernia surgery, open inguinal hernia surgery, skin lesion removal surgery, and umbilical hernia surgery.

Mr Harries practises at Bronglais, Glangwili, Prince Philip, and Withybush Hospitals and sees private patients at Werndale Hospital, a Bupa-accredited bowel care centre in Carmarthen. He offers face-to-face, video, and telephone consultations.
