About Mr Dan Burke

Mr Dan Burke is a Consultant Urologist appointed in 2010, he graduated with an MB BS from the University of London in 1994 and later achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology (FRCS Urol).

Mr Burke has developed a particular expertise in minimally invasive urological surgery, with a focus on prostate cancer diagnosis and management. His clinical work includes advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques such as multiparametric MRI, transperineal template prostate biopsy, and MR-fusion targeted prostate biopsy. He also manages a wide range of urological conditions, including kidney cancer, bladder cancer, benign prostatic disease, and general urology.

Earlier in his career, Mr Burke established the laparoscopic prostate and kidney surgery service at the Sherwood Forest and Derby NHS Trusts, helping expand access to minimally invasive treatment options. His specialist expertise was further developed through an extensive training programme, including a prestigious fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery at a world-renowned urology centre in Bordeaux, France.

In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Burke is involved in teaching and professional development. He is a member of the European Institute of TeleSurgery at the University of Strasbourg and regularly delivers international training for healthcare professionals in advanced urological techniques.
