Mr Chinnakonda Arvind

Mr Chinnakonda Arvind is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 15 years of experience at consultant level, specialising in disorders of the hip, knee, foot, and ankle. He currently practises within the NHS at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and provides private consultations and treatment at Spire Dunedin Hospital and Circle Reading Hospital.

Mr Arvind qualified in medicine in 1986 and undertook his initial orthopaedic training in India before relocating to the United Kingdom for further specialist training within the Wessex region. During his early academic career, he was awarded a gold medal in Paediatrics, a Certificate of Merit in General Medicine, and a gold medal for best outgoing student during his Master’s degree in Orthopaedics.

His clinical practice includes a broad range of orthopaedic procedures, with particular expertise in lower limb surgery. He has contributed to service development, including establishing a day-case surgical procedure for bunion deformity correction at West Berkshire Community Hospital. He also introduced total ankle replacement to Reading, performing the first such procedure locally in 2005.

Mr Arvind has presented research at professional meetings, including award-winning work on club foot correction. He has also contributed to surgical education, serving as a faculty member for knee arthroscopy courses at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
