Mr Bernard Colaco

Dr C Bernard Colaco is a renowned and respected Consultant Rheumatologist based in London. Practising privately at both BMI healthcare and the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, and for the NHS at Central Middlesex Hospital, his vast experience ensures that his clients are in safe hands.

His special interests include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, vasculitis and paediatric rheumatology above 5 years of age, and is very skilled in joint injections and nerve blocks. He offers in-depth consultations and a holistic approach to treatments. He encourages patients to be involved in their care and established a Patient Led Self Help Group in his Trust. He undertakes patient-led surveys and audits to optimise care and improve outcomes. He has completed UK Yoga Therapy studies to provide a holistic approach with the aim to reduce intervention and medication needs.

Dr Colaco graduated in 1975 from Bristol University with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science. He continued his training in Bristol, Bath and North West London and completed a research fellowship at the prestigious Royal Postgraduate Medical School in Hammersmith, London. He completed a further fellowship abroad in the USA and became Chair of the Research Ethics Committee UK in 2015. He is heavily involved in medical education and is an honorary lecturer at the prestigious Imperial College School of Medicine. He has a strong research interest in the field of immunopathology and has many accredited published journals.
