About Mr Andrew Felstead
Andrew Felstead is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with broad expertise across facial surgery, head and neck conditions, and skin cancer management.
He holds dual undergraduate degrees in dentistry and medicine from University of Birmingham and University of Bristol. After qualifying in 2004, he undertook extensive surgical training across trauma and orthopaedics, general surgery, and neurosurgery, achieving the MRCS (Edinburgh). He then completed a five-year specialist training programme in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the South West of England, earning the FRCSEd (OMFS).
Mr Felstead is listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and manages the full scope of the specialty. His clinical interests include facial trauma, facial deformity correction, head and neck cancer, salivary gland disease, and skin cancer of the head and neck. He is an active member of both head and neck and skin cancer multidisciplinary teams within his NHS trust.
He regularly treats patients requiring assessment and removal of skin lesions and soft tissue lumps, performing biopsies as well as primary and secondary excisions.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Felstead contributes to education as an honorary clinical tutor in head and neck anatomy for the Severn Deanery School of Surgery, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental students. He is also involved in research, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals.

I was referred to Mr Felstead on two unrelated occasions. After my first visit, I quickly realized that he is a great diagnostician. From that moment I put all my trust into him and I have never been disappointed. Mr Felstead is highly skilled, behaves in an ethical manner and with respect. The conclusion from my second visit lead to a surgical procedure: the excision of abnormal tissue was performed on my nose, a technically challenging location. Mr Felstead was very reassuring, observant of my reactions and caring about my comfort before I could even express something verbally. The operation was painless and produced an excellent result. During the time of booking and through the whole process, all of my concerns and questions were addressed by Mr Felstead and his very friendly and efficient secretary, Mrs Knill. I have no reservation in recommending Mr Felstead to anyone who needs help and treatment in the area of his expertise.
Would have appreciated more time to talk about current progress achieved following op but pleased to get reassurance that all was checked including some extra scar tissue which appeared to be ok and healing well

Mr Felstead was extremely professional but had a very friendly manner. He was made me feel very comfortable in his presence.
I was very impressed by Mr Andrew Felstead and would have no hesitation in recommending him. The reason for the overall bad experience is because I've sent two emails to his secretary and haven't had an acknowledgement of either, not the level of service you would expect to receive from a private hospital.
I am so very sorry to hear of your experience. I agree that failure to have acknowledged your e mails falls below the high standards expected. Whilst not wishing to offer excuses, my secretary is usually quite excellent and feedback generally very positive. She has recently been in hospital and had some time off and has therefore delegated some of her admin to other colleagues. I will discuss this matter with her to find out what may have gone wrong.
