Mr Andrew Bing

Mr Andrew Bing is an orthopaedic surgeon at Owestry Orthopaedics and Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital.

He has interests in the following areas:

• All aspects of ankle, hind, mid, and forefoot surgery (including rheumatoid arthritis related problems)
• Lower limb reconstruction, including realignment surgery, post-traumatic reconstruction, complex trauma reconstruction, and infective problems in limb reconstruction
• Bunion Surgery
• Surgery for foot and ankle arthritis
• Deformity including ankle replacement
• Arthroscopic procedures (particularly of the ankle and big toe)

Mr. Bing earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Bristol Medical School and undertook SHO training at the University Hospitals of Leicester. He moved to Shropshire in 2002 after being accepted into the Oswestry/Stoke Trauma and Orthopaedic Specialist Registrar training programme. During his rotation, he worked in Telford, Dudley, Stoke-on-Trent, Shrewsbury, and Oswestry.

After extensive orthopaedic and trauma training and success in the Intercollegiate Board exams, Mr Bing went on to sub-specialise in foot and ankle disorders and limb deformity problems. He spent a year in the Foot and Ankle Unit in Oswestry and also gained experience in limb deformity work.

Additionally, he undertook a fellowship at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Centre for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, to study frame surgery (particularly foot and ankle), deformity, and infective problems.
