As a Counselling Psychologist I am passionate about the work I do and the people I see. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients, finding understanding of their difficulties from their perspective, so that I can tailor therapy treatment to suit each unique individual. No one shoe fits all in therapy!
I believe that we all come across difficulties during our lives, but that if we collaborate to tailor therapy to your individual needs, you will develop a greater understanding of your inner world, and we can create a personal road-map for you which will show you the way forward, so you can overcome the challenges you face in the outside world.
I do truly want clients to have a fulfilled life and not to have to be in therapy longer than needed. I also understand the financial demands of our day and age and as such I like to practice mainly within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework (which is generally shorter-term therapy with sustainable change). I am also trained in psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches and do not always use CBT as a stand alone treatment but integrated with other treatments. As my client in our therapeutic alliance, I think you deserve an expert service and as such will work with you in understanding your thoughts and related behaviours. As a naturally empathetic person, I empathise with the constraints of our lives and the difficulties we all face, and try to find techniques, skills and tools that fit with your strengths in helping you overcome difficulty and supporting you through any future trigger events.
As with GP's, when we walk into our appointment, we trust that the GP is an expert in their field and that we would like to walk out with a clear indication of our problems, what medication to take, how many times a day etc. My hope is that I could give you the same type of service. I see my integrated approach as somewhat of an educational process, and as such will develop with you a series of skills, insights, and strategies that you can apply in your current situation and any future reoccurrences. As an expert in the field I would like to be able to give you the tools from my toolkit so that you can go out into the world and work on any problem areas that may come up in your sessions to not only improve your thoughts, but your behaviours and feelings and in the grand scheme of things, your quality of life.

She is a wonderful therapist. I felt so comfortable with her from the start and I was able to open up quite easily. Juandri was able to make me feel like I was connecting with another human and my therapy journey with her has only been positive, despite the difficult topics.
I’d highly recommend Juandri to any other thirty-something single women feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of where we think we should be in life. She’s been an absolute godsend.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about my time with Juandri. From the very beginning, she was thoughtful, warm, and deeply comforting in a way that immediately put me at ease. She created a space that felt safe, supportive, and truly mine. While I understand that a therapist isn’t a friend, she had a rare ability to be so easy to be with that our sessions felt natural and grounding rather than intimidating. Her presence was calming, and she met me with kindness, understanding, and genuine care every time. Because of her, therapy never felt like something I had to force myself through or feel anxious about. Instead, it became an act of self-care, a space I looked forward to, where I could slow down, reflect, and focus on myself without judgment. She helped transform therapy from something I was initially apprehensive about into something that felt nourishing and empowering. I am incredibly grateful for her and for the way she shows up with such warmth and intention. Working with her has been a truly meaningful and positive experience.
I found Juandri to be extremely professional and knowledgeable. Her ADHD assessment was very thorough, and I honestly got far more out of the process than I expected. While her fees were more affordable than many other providers I looked into, the value I received was exceptional. I’ve since continued with ADHD-focused therapy and coaching sessions with her, and I’ve found them to be genuinely helpful and practical so far. I’m very glad I chose to work with her.
My experience with Juandri has been incredibly positive. From the very first session, I felt welcomed, supported, and truly listened to. Her warm and compassionate approach created a safe space where I felt comfortable opening up and exploring my thoughts and feelings. I always felt contained and cared for throughout the process, which made it easier to do meaningful work on myself. Overall, it has been a very helpful and healing experience, and I’m deeply grateful for the support I received.
Juandri has been my therapist for several years now, and that’s not a sign that therapy hasn’t worked, quite the opposite. Over our time together, she has helped me work through so many of my original difficulties and supported me in ways that have had a lasting impact. I now choose to continue seeing her because the space she provides remains valuable to me. Juandri offers a flexible and supportive approach, allowing me to check in as and when I need. These days, our sessions are less about crisis or difficulty and more about having a calm, caring, and grounding space to reflect and maintain my wellbeing. I’m very grateful for the relationship we’ve built and the consistent support she offers.
Starting therapy with Juandri has been truly life changing. It’s been beyond meaningful having her support in navigating some very difficult spaces over the years. I’ve since uncovered so many parts of myself and still continuing to evolve into the version of myself which felt like it was just a distant before starting therapy with her. I’m especially grateful for her candid reflections and her providing alternative perspectives on situations when needed, being a listening ear and shifting her approach when that’s what’s best. Thank you Juandri.
Juandri is an excellent therapist who really holds space for you and helps you to see things you're missing and make those necessary cognitive leaps to make progress. I saw her initially as I was feeling overwhelmed by general 'life', but she quickly found deeper causes and we worked through those together. I feel I made a lot of progress with Juandri and would really recommend her.
I can’t recommend Juandri enough. She has an incredible way of making you feel completely at ease and safe to open up. Her empathy is genuine, and she seemed to understand me in ways I hadn’t even understood myself. Our sessions helped me process things I’d been carrying for a long time, and I’m truly grateful for the progress I’ve made with her guidance.
I have been seeing Juandri for long term therapy and would highly recommend her to anyone wanting a supportive, empathetic space. It may have been a long journey of getting here, but I finally feel that I have been able to create long term change, something I had not been able to achieve before. I am finally happy, and content with where and who I am in life and I do feel that Juandri had a massive role to play in this. Thank you, for our years together and never giving up on me.
It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Juandri Buitendag to any patient looking for a caring, competent and highly experienced psychologist. I have experienced her as a genuinely passionate practitioner who is going the extra mile for her patients. Her knowledge and reliability are an asset to our clinical team and the patients she is looking after. She fosters therapeutic relationships beautifully and brings about change for the better in those who experience suffering and distress. Without a doubt, I confidently recommend her to any person seeking to foster their mental health and well-bei...
