Dr Michael Tilby

Dr Michael Tilby is a dedicated Consultant Medical Oncologist who provides comprehensive, compassionate care for individuals diagnosed with cancer. Focusing on medical oncology, he aims to deliver tailored treatment plans that address the individual needs of every patient. Dr Tilby works collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure patients receive seamless, evidence-based care throughout diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

In his clinical practice, Dr Tilby specialises in the management of melanoma and lower gastrointestinal cancers. He oversees advanced systemic anti-cancer treatments, including modern chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies. Additionally, he plays a key role in acute oncology care, providing urgent clinical assessment and specialist care for patients facing complex cancer complications, cancer of unknown primary, and metastatic spinal cord compression.

Dr Tilby completed higher specialist training in Medical Oncology in the United Kingdom and holds full registration on the General Medical Council Specialist Register. Demonstrating a strong commitment to clinical excellence and healthcare quality, he previously served as a National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow at the Care Quality Commission. Dr Tilby also holds leadership roles within regional acute oncology networks, actively contributing to service development, patient safety, and high standards of oncology care.
