Really happy with my surgery outcome and communication throughout

Consultant was helpful and informative.

Had an initial consultation due to severe pain in my left knee. Mr Brown was polite, friendly and very reassuring re my options. I started with the first option, that being steroid injection into my knee, unfortunately this did not work for me. The next step was imaging and a further appointment with Mr Brown. The option left available was a full left knee replacement which i opted for. My operation could have been scheduled within three weeks but i chose 2 months to get in best shape i could. I am 59yrs of age, retired and active. i went to private Pilates classes, built up the muscles round my knee which made recovery easier, albeit the recovery is challenging and painful. I did my exercises provided by physio, was mobile, trusted the recovery process and within 6 weeks i was free of my crutches. A 6 week post op appointment with Mr Brown confirming that all was in order, we discussed the recovery, my knee and leg was examined and i was shown my post op X-rays which was reassuring. I would highly recommend Mr Brown with no hesitation. He is grounded, polite and very approachable. So relieved i did my homework and that i chose Mr Brown.

Mr Brown was very professional and friendly from initial consultation to the operation itself and with the post operative care he provided. He had an easy going friendly manner that put both me and my wife at ease. He was happy to answer any questions or concerns we had prior to the operation and gave us confidence that all would go well. The total knee replacement surgery has been a complete success and I am now totally pain free & more mobile than I have been for a long time. I would like to thank Michael & the team of doctors, nurses, physios & other staff at The Nuffield fot their excellent care throughout.

This was a second visit to discuss treatment options for my knee. He clearly and carefully explained what the pros and cons were in relation to a partial or full knee replacement . Explaining the merits of both including any risks. He was very reassuring and knowledgable. I had read up on it before my visit and asked several questions which he answered fully . He has a very nice way with him and is easy to talk to. Professional but very approachable. I felt that my treatment plan was a joint decision and he gave me plenty of opportunity to express my views. I left feeling very reassured and with a realistic view of the treatment

Michael was extremely helpful in explaining my surgery to help alleviate my concerns during rehabilitation and recovery . His professionalism put me completely at ease and gave me confidence that I made the right decision regarding my healthcare.

Explained the surgery and showed the xray post operation and what I should expect in the next few months. Examined the scar and also movement/stability of the knee

I saw Mr Brown about an ongoing knee problem that was affecting my running. He was really helpful throughout, explained everything clearly and arranged an MRI to find out exactly what was going on. He talked me through the results and what I should do next, and was also very quick to reply when I had a couple of questions afterwards. Really pleased with the whole experience and would definitely recommend him…
