With over eight years of clinical MSK experience, Melissa is a Sports Physiotherapist and the founder of Stride Sports Physiotherapy in Marylebone, London.
She holds a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town, with experience working across private practice and the NHS.
Melissa specialises in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation and rheumatological conditions, with a particular interest in lower-limb injuries. She regularly treats running injuries, knee and meniscal injuries, tendinopathies, FAI's (hip impingement), stress fractures and ankle sprains. Melissa understands how frustrating it can be when an injury interferes with training, competition or simply staying active. She works closely with each patient to develop an individualised treatment and rehabilitation plan based on their goals, lifestyle and progress.
Her approach is evidence-based and centred around understanding the underlying factors contributing to an injury, rather than simply treating the symptoms. She combines hands-on treatment where appropriate with progressive rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, mobility work and load management. Her aim is to help patients understand their injury, build confidence in their body and return to the activities they enjoy.

I saw Melissa for my shin splints which were affecting me running, and Melissa was brilliant from start to finish. She took the time to understand my training, explain what was causing the pain, and put together a personalised rehab plan that felt manageable alongside my modified running plan. I really appreciated her practical advice and clear guidance on gradually building my mileage back up. I’d highly recommend Melissa at Stride Sports Physio to any runner dealing with an injury.
Mel is currently helping me manage a flare up in a long standing knee condition. On my most recent visit she advised the best way to return to training after a steroid injection and adjusted my training plan to allow me to progress with my strength training in the gym.
I tell everyone to go to Melissa! I have had some complicated injuries and Mel has always figured them out. She is extremely efficient and sends you off with exercises to do and knowledge of how to move forward. I have had some really bad experiences with physios in the past and Mel is a breath of fresh air. She is super kind, professional and incredibly knowledgeable.
Melissa is phenomenal. She is exceptionally knowledgeable, and has the perfect combination of optimism and realism that you need in a professional guiding you through injury rehab. I highly recommend her!
Melissa has been incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and supportive throughout my treatment. As a specialist in back and spine conditions, she developed a deep understanding of my specific needs and played a key role in helping me manage and recover from axial spondyloarthritis. She has also been instrumental in helping me work through an Achilles issue that developed during marathon training. Her expertise, clear guidance, and tailored approach have given me confidence throughout my recovery. Melissa communicates exceptionally well, is always responsive, and is genuinely friendly and approachable. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an outstanding physiotherapist.
My visits with Melissa have also been super helpful. She is very knowledgeable and attentive regarding my running injury, doing a detailed check in every session and hands on work on the affected area
I had a great experience. Was given plenty of helpful explanation and a series of exercises and moves that really helped me manage a couple of injuries.
Worked with Mel on multiple injuries - some long term and one more recent. Mel was really thorough in diagnosing the issues, making sure that we were solving the right problems and not making any assumptions. From there we built a program that aligned to my goals and preferences and has enabled me to get back to full health and pain free.
