Maud Lemoine is Professor of Hepatology and head of the Digestive Disease Division at Imperial College London, UK. She is consultant in Hepatology at St Mary’s hospital, NHS London. She complicated her medical degree in Hepato-gastroenterology from Paris University.
She holds a PhD on the physiopathology of metabolic liver disease. She has been working as a consultant for more than 10 years. Her clinical interests and research expertise are in viral hepatitis and in metabolic liver disease. She is/was the chief investigator of numerous studies in this field. For many years, she has been leading a research programme on viral hepatitis and chronic liver disease in Africa.
Her research is regularly used to inform the World Health Organisation (WHO) hepatitis B guidelines and other health policy agencies. She is a member of the WHO and European guideline development group for the management of hepatitis B. She is leading the hepatitis B clinical services at St Mary’s hospital, London. She has published extensively in world-class peer-reviewed journals and her work is known internationally.
