Dr. Matthew Bulkeley

Dr Matthew Bulkeley is a Private GP working at The Canmore Clinic, where he provides a wide range of general practice services including health checks, diagnostic testing, minor procedures, and musculoskeletal treatments.

He graduated from both the University of St Andrews and the University of Wales, and completed his early postgraduate medical training in Edinburgh and Fife. During this time, he gained broad clinical experience across multiple specialties including dermatology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, general medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, and gastrointestinal surgery.

Dr Bulkeley’s clinical practice includes health MOTs, blood testing, urinalysis, steroid and joint injections, cryotherapy for skin lesions, and removal of skin tags. He also has a strong interest in sports medicine and minor surgical procedures, with additional training in medical acupuncture through the British Medical Acupuncture Society.

His practice has increasingly focused on men’s and women’s health, particularly hormone replacement therapy, alongside a continued emphasis on continuity of care and longer, unhurried consultations that allow for thorough assessment and patient understanding.

Alongside his clinical work, he is involved in medical education within the NHS, teaching GP trainees, medical students, and advanced nurse practitioner trainees. He also serves as Chair of LocumScotland and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners South East Scotland Committee.
