Dr Mathilde Pauls

Dr Mathilde Pauls is an experienced Consultant Neurologist specialising in stroke and vascular neurology. Dedicated to providing patient-centred, compassionate care, Dr Pauls offers expert evaluation and management for a broad range of acute and chronic neurological conditions. She works closely with patients and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver individualised, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each individual's healthcare needs.

Her clinical practice encompasses the acute management of patients experiencing strokes, hyperacute stroke unit care, and comprehensive post-stroke rehabilitation. In addition to her acute stroke work, Dr Pauls conducts general neurology outpatient clinics, evaluating patients presenting with complex brain and vascular conditions. She is also actively involved in clinical stroke research trials and the teaching and supervision of medical trainees.

Dr Pauls completed a clinical research fellowship focused on small vessel disease and cerebral blood flow, during which she earned her Doctorate of Medicine (MD). She subsequently undertook higher specialty training in Neurology across major regional university hospitals and specialist tertiary neurological centres, concluding with a dedicated fellowship year in advanced stroke care. Dr Pauls maintains professional memberships with the Association of British Neurologists, the British and Irish Association of Stroke Physicians, and the European Stroke Organisation.
