Dr Mark Richard Drury-Smith

Dr Mark Richard Drury-Smith is a Consultant Cardiologist who provides comprehensive diagnosis and management for a broad spectrum of cardiovascular conditions. He possesses extensive clinical expertise in managing heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, cardiomyopathies, and hypertension. Dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, he works closely with individuals to evaluate complex cardiac symptoms and implement tailored treatment plans aimed at optimising cardiovascular health and overall quality of life.

In his daily clinical practice, Dr Richard Drury-Smith manages both general cardiology conditions and complex cardiovascular diseases. His clinical interests encompass heart failure, palpitations, atrial fibrillation, and cardiac arrhythmias, as well as acute and general internal medicine. He routinely conducts diagnostic cardiovascular evaluations and performs cardiac device procedures, including the implantation of permanent pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), biventricular pacemakers and defibrillators (CRT devices), and implantable loop recorders.

Dr Richard Drury-Smith graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Bristol in 2006. He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP London) in 2009 and earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Staffordshire University in 2011. He holds formal accreditation in Transthoracic Echocardiography from the British Society of Echocardiography (awarded in 2013) and passed the European Examination in General Cardiology via the European Society of Cardiology in 2015. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he serves as an Honorary Lecturer, actively supporting medical education and research.
