Dr Mark Edwards

Dr Mark Edwards is an Anaesthetist.

Dr Edwards trained in general medicine and anaesthesia in Nottingham and London. They completed their higher degree at University College London in perioperative medicine and immunology, exploring the role of perioperative lymphocyte dysfunction in postoperative morbidity. Their current clinical activities include anaesthesia for major adult surgery and developing clinical services within perioperative medicine. Their academic interests include perioperative haemodynamic optimisation and the use of information technology to improve patient care.

Dr Edwards is also Chair of the National Institute for Academic Anaesthesia's Health Services Research Centre Patient, Carer and Public Involvement & Engagement Group, and Wessex National Institute for Health and Care Research Clinical Research Network Specialty Group Lead for Anaesthesia, Perioperative Medicine and Pain.
