Dr Marc George is a consultant in General (Internal) Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology, and serves as the Clinical Lead for the Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Risk clinic at UCLH, where he specialises in early-onset, resistant and secondary hypertension, as well as cholesterol management.
He also works in Acute and General Medicine, at UCLH seeing patients with a wide range of medical problems. As a Clinical Pharmacologist he reviews medicines together with the patient to weigh their intended benefits against potential adverse effects and explore the range of therapeutic options.
His private practice is based at The Physicians Clinic (TPC) in the heart of London and HCA Waterfront in Elstree. His practice includes a specialist hypertension clinic and a general medicine clinic (including medically unexplained symptoms, fatigue and long covid). He is part of the same-day rapid access clinic for acute medical cases at TPC and the in-patient service for general medicine at the Princess Grace hospital. He is covered by all major insurers.
Additionally, Dr George is the UCLH lead for Medical Emergency Guidelines and plays a key role in UCLH Clinical Guidelines and Use of Medicines Committees. As an Honorary Associate Professor at the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, he is actively involved in research and leads pharmacology teaching at UCL Medcial School. He is the chair of the pan-London hypertension working group.
Dr George's research interests are focused on developing new approaches to treating cardiovascular disease, including targeting inflammation and high blood pressure. His PhD research won several prestigious prizes and awards.
