Dr. Lucy Hicks

Dr. Lucy Hicks is an experienced Gastroenterologist who has been a Consultant at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust since 2018. Her clinical practice encompasses a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, reflux and dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, diarrhoea, constipation, abdominal pain, gut health, and nutrition. She is skilled in endoscopic procedures, such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, and surveillance endoscopy.

Since 2022, Dr Hicks has served as Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology at the Trust, contributing significantly to service organisation, quality improvement, and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. 

Dr Hicks has a strong interest in medical education and has held multiple training roles, including Clinical Training Lead at St Mary’s Hospital. She is currently the Training Programme Director for Gastroenterology in North West London and is a JAG-accredited Endoscopy Trainer who regularly teaches on national courses. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Academy of Education, having been awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Hicks maintains an active academic portfolio as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on inflammatory bowel disease and the gut microbiome, including both commercial and investigator-led clinical trials. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the British Society of Gastroenterology, the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation, and the American Gastroenterology Association.
