Mr Glancz was appointed as a substantive Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC), Nottingham, in March 2023. He is nationally recognised for his expertise in skull base surgery through his appointment to the national skull base chordoma and chondrosarcoma multidisciplinary team (MDT) and his recognition by the Chordoma Foundation as one of only four UK neurosurgery experts in the management of skull base chordoma. He is currently the only UK consultant neurosurgeon who is a member of the North American Skull Base Society. He is the Regional Lead for Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery for the East Midlands and is one of only two neurosurgeons in the region providing vestibular schwannoma and pituitary surgery. His NHS practice at Queen's Medical Centre focuses on the highly specialised management of patients with complex and often rare tumours and abnormalities affecting the skull base, brain, orbit, pituitary gland and craniovertebral junction. He employs the latest minimally invasive endoscopic techniques alongside traditional microsurgical approaches, tailoring the surgical strategy to each patient's individual condition. He also has a specialist interest in neurovascular compression syndromes, particularly hemifacial spasm and trigeminal neuralgia, together with a complementary general neurosurgical practice that includes the management of degenerative spinal disorders. Mr Glancz trained in London, Nottingham and Manchester, including completion of the Royal College of Surgeons-approved Neuro-oncology Fellowship in Nottingham and the Manchester Skull Base Fellowship, providing dual fellowship training in complex cranial tumour and skull base surgery. Throughout his career he has received more than 30 awards, the majority at national level, recognising his clinical, academic and research achievements. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Glancz maintains a strong academic profile, having authored more than 40 publications and delivered numerous presentations at national and international scientific meetings. Within six months of his consultant appointment he was awarded an Honorary Assistant Professorship at the University of Nottingham in recognition of his academic contributions. Mr Glancz accepts referrals from consultants, GPs and patients throughout the UK for skull base, pituitary and cranial nerve disorders, together with vestibular schwannomas and selected complex cranial conditions within his areas of specialist expertise. He also provides specialist second opinions for these conditions, offering expert assessment and personalised treatment recommendations.

Mr Glancz was very clear and precise with his explanation of my condition and listened to my wife and I with understanding and empathy.
Mr Glancz supported me amazingly when I was diagnosed with a brain, I was sent quickly, surgery was arranged and the care afterwards was second to none. I have had follow up appointments face to face, MRI scans and telephone appointments and these have been great too. I feel I have received the best service ever from him and the team at Nottingham and survived my problems with nine hours of surgery too performed personally by Mr Glancz. Thank you for everything and I would recommend to anyone that needed his specialist services.
My recent visit was a very positive experience.Dr Glance was very professional, caring and responsible. He explained my treatment and the surgery carefully and answered all my questions. After my 12 hours surgery, my recovery has been going very well and I am very happy with the results. I’m truly grateful for his care and dedication.
Operation a success my eyesight returned to normal quickly. I am very pleased with the treatment I received from Mr Glancz.
I was treated by Mr Glancz after discovering a Colloid cyst, everything was explained to me prior to my surgery and Mr Glancz personally carried out my surgery and aftercare. He was extremely caring and professional and showed compassion throughout my treatment. When I went for my follow up he saw me and showed genuine care and concern I have had on occasions had telephone contact with him and when I had some issues 2 years after surgery where I wasn’t feeling too well he booked me straight in for a CT scan to have a check up. Overall he is a wonderful surgeon and doctor and he saved my life, so thank you
Appointment exactly on time. Pleasant manner of consultant who explained issues clearly.
Dr Glance was very patient explaining things clearly. My only negative is no one would tell me what was going on for 6-8 weeks following tests till this appointment. Dr Glance apologised for delay and notifications to GP. Which caused me added stress. However very impressive with service today. Admin got consultants name wrong as Dr Laurence on initial letter which added to confusion in letter to GP.
I was happy with consultant with Mr Glancz who listened to my concern and simultaneously asked questions dissolved the scan in detail which put my mind at rest as 15 appointment were cancelled before and I was in the dark and had lot of anxiety as I've Meninguma.Very nice gentleman ,who listened
Mr Glancz was very thorough, I was impressed with the fact he came personally to see me on the ward often my operations and is very approachable it was the lack of aftercare once I left the hospital from all areas
I have worked closely with Mr Glancz in caring for patients who need both ENT and neurosurgical treatment. He is a highly skilled, thoughtful and caring neurosurgeon. He takes time to listen to patients and their families and explains complex conditions and treatment options in a clear and reassuring way. He makes sure that patients understand the choices available to them and that their wishes and concerns are central to every decision. He works extremely well with colleagues from different specialties and always focuses on achieving the best possible outcome for the patient. Overall, he ...

Mr Yujay Ramakrishnan
ENT SurgeonI have worked closely with Mr Glancz for four years, and he is the neurosurgeon I turn to first for my pituitary and skull base tumour patients. In that time, he has consistently achieved excellent outcomes, including in cases that many surgeons would consider too complex to take on. What distinguishes him is not only technical skill but judgement: he is meticulous, deliberate, and thorough in his assessment of every patient. I refer patients to him with complete confidence.
